This third CD from Cedar Rapids Surf Zombies is filled with all the surf rock goodness we’ve come to expect from the band. “Lust For Rust” is chock full of swirling riffs that

The lead sounds and feels like a cat that’s been cornered and is determined to not go down without a fight.
“Rat Tech” stomps and kicks with purpose and nerve, that begs you do something worthy of a ticket while listening to it.
“Stingray Dream” sounds as it implies; like traffic slowing to watch the best looking ride drive by.
Throughout the songwriting is fresh and crisp, often the songs seem too big for the speakers. The players, bring enough swagger and attitude to take on any comers. “Boss 302,” and “Never Kill an Ape,” are the best examples of this on disc. This is perfect soundtrack music for the next breakout indie film.
Closing out with the dreamy, crystalline tones is “Rust Colored Leisure Suit.” This is the perfect song to catch your breath and decompress to as you reflect on everything you just heard; because if you have any sense at all, you’ll let the CD start over again from the beginning.
