If this was 1968, the world at large would surely be introduced to Swiss 
songstress Heidi Happy via an on screen cameo in the latest Pink Panther film.
Heidi Happy is not only as sunny and camera ready as her name implies, but brings with her a remarkable collection of enticing Euro-pop songs with an indie rock twist that’s tuneful and memorable.
“On the Hills” has a nice country-folk feel to it, her voice as soft as down and her inflections as subtle as a soft breeze. But she’s just warming up. “Big Boy” picks up the pace a bit, and she’ll have you moving on the dance floor soon enough with the deceptive and misleading “Dance with Another.” The song has a bit of shimmy to it as she swears “I can never dance with another,” but halfway through commits, and yields to the beat. I double dog dare you to sit still while this plays.
“Land of Horses” is dark and unsettling, with a melody like curling wisps of smoke.
Each track on this release is its own gem. Individually crafted and carefully thought out, there’s no cookie cutter approach to the instrumentation or arrangements.
Fun and flirty, this album demands repeated listening. This is far more than just another collection of songs from a girl an acoustic guitar.
