Self aware synth pop that often sounds and feels as though it came from the early 1980’s is crafted by this duo, who call themselves Resistor. The hipster lyrics are clever and loaded with as much wit as any Monty Python episode . “Narcissist,” aside from being Vanity Smurfs personal theme song, is side-splittingly funny.

“Everyone I know” is a paean to the futility of trying to say or do something with an original twist. “Choose Your Parents Well” is pretty self explanatory. You get whatever you deserve for being low born and poor. To paraphrase Zep paraphrasing a Mississippi blues-man, “It’s nobody’s fault but yours.”
