Dirty Fences
Slovenly Recordings, 2015
It’s like someone spiked the chocolate shakes with goofballs down at Pops Malt Shop, deep in the heart of Riverdale,
where the Archies have been known to congregate before, after and heck, sometimes during band practice. And from this toxic haze of a hang-over, Dirty Fences emerged, more or less fully formed, and their songs, still extra sugary, and super catchy have been dressed up and re-done by some some seventh incarnation of Johnny Thunders.
It works. I like it. You will too unless you completely suck. They even show off some melodic guitar work on “These Freaks.” Every song is a sing along, and designed with your Attention Deficient Dysfunction in mind. The perfect soundtrack for plotting the revenge you’ll never get around to actually getting around to.
“High School Rip” is like a t shirt two sizes too small on that girl you can’t keep your eyes off of. Fuckin’ Irresistible. Get. This. Now.
