If the music on this disc sounds familiar, it’s because the players are well known. This is an all star line-up of well versed and established players from 80’s bands. With Tracii Guns on guitar, Rudy Sarzo on bass, Rikki Rockett on drums, and Brandon Gibbson lead vocals, we are blessed with a group of players who’ve never asked us to suffer through a reality show. This disc has strong melodies, great whiddley-whiddley guitar leads, and a good focus on songwriting. “Numb” and “Boneyard” are both sturdy all-weather rock tracks. “I’m Living” works out a Bo Diddley rhythm and a bright spot of fun. Buried all the way toward the end of the disc, I found “Back to the Drive.” One of the strongest numbers to be sure, it sounds like the bands own identity rather than offshoots of their previous bands works. A good debut, better than most from players of similar ilk, hopefully they’ll be able to maintain.
