Lousy With Sylvianbriar

Poly vinyl Records, 2013

This is seriously boring and tedious hippie shit. I wanted to like this CD. I like Psychedelic rock. I like smelly hippie noise, sort of. I like  the really good tracks by 60’s bands, the ones that hold up really well and are worth repeated listening.  of montreal

And most bands, From Hendrix to the Stones, but I’m thinking more like The Association, Grass Roots, Quicksilver Messenger Service and countless other bands, had some real dippy numbers that were typical of the time that didn’t hold up well past 1974.

Of Montreal have decided to record only those kinds of patchouli scented stink bombs, and no less than a complete albums worth. There were two songs I liked on this waste of time, “Hegira Émigré” and “Raindrop in my Skull,” which for some reason work better than the others.

Of Montreal, I hope all your kids are punks or better yet, reject your values by listening to house music.
