This is the third release by Copenhagen’s way out jazz-core outfit Svin, and they are flexing their muscles every chance they get. With explosive, raging blasts of sound to whispering moments of introspective noodling, this five piece sets fire to these compositions without ever looking back to see the scorched ground they’ve left behind. Opening track, “Maharaja” steadily grows into a violent maelstrom of sound before settling down once again. Svin paints with bold, decisive brushstrokes, unconcerned with those who may not quite get it.
