Random Dander SPEAK UP!

Random Dander are a psychedelic six piece with funky rhythms and attitude. From Mission BC, Canada, this band
is energized, adrenalized and consistently upbeat. Oke, Jackie, Luke and Shane stopped long enough to speak with us about important matters of the heart as well as whatwver we had to ask them.

Do you recall the moment you first wanted to pick up an instrument?

Oke: Yes, my older brothers band used to jam in our basement. I’d go hit the drums while they went out and smoked j birds.

Jackie:I wanted to pick up an instrument since my hands were large enough to hold em..never mastered the craft though.

What was it that moved you toward jam band style music?

Oke: I wouldn’t say we’re a jam band in that we’re gonna waste your trip on a 48 minute guitar solo. We have jammed 2-3 times a week since we started in 2010. Most of our songs come from that practice.

Luke: no we’re not Phishy at all.

Which musician (living/dead/other) would you most like to share a stage with and what song would you most like to jam on?

Oke: Zappa, Florentine Pogen.

Jackie: Otis Redding

Shane: Earthless, Jimi Hendrix.. anything.

Name of your new project you feel compelled to plug?

Oke: The Second Cuming..our second album

Your favorite thing/song from the new/forthcoming release?

Jackie: Poor SOB

Luke: How Ya Gonna

Oke: Skin Lizard

Shane: the progression from our first album.

Most absurd thing you’ve been asked at a show?

Oke: “do you think I could watch you poop sometime?”… he got a high five for worst line ever. and NO.

Jackie: “where’s your accent from?” …Im from Canada.

When you get around to writing your rock opera and/or concept album, what subject will be the focus your intense personal examination?

Oke: pondering the infinite possibilities that present themselves in life.

Jackie: probably the reasons I’m still here. Finding inspiration in trivial  bullshit.

Absurd thing you plan to buy with your first million dollar royalty check?

Jackie: I’ll buy a huge piece of land and hire nannies and take care and love as many kids as possible.

Luke: Many books.

Oke: Vacations.
