Okilly Mother-Diddley Dokilly Live-A-Rino!
Okilly Dokilly
w/Bear Ghost
Tuesday April, 23
Will’s Pub, Orlando, FL
Tuesday Night in Orlando. The night restaurants have kids eat for free, theaters push half off movies, and maybe you
can still find the occasional ladies night somewhere, because these establishments are desperately trying to fill some seats and move some product.
This particular Tuesday night, Will’s pub is at capacity. Full. You couldn’t fit one more flea fart in the place. And all this because Okilly Dokilly, the worlds finest Heavy Nedal band, and the first and as of last count, only Ned Flanders inspired band.
Braving the stage in matching green sweaters and pink polo shirts, Head Ned, Dread Ned, Zed Ned, Bed Ned, and Shred Ned, arrived in their trusty Ned Vanders styled transport, and the Re-Neducation began.
I walked in 15 minutes before the show, and I was unable to get anywhere near the stage. And no one in front of the stage moved. Not an inch-arino. So I was forced to hang out by the sound board. And the show was Brutal-rino. Epically powerful and fierce in the nicest way possible. Lead vocalist Head Ned gave a shout out to all the Bonus Ned’s in attendance. The music was solid. The show, was grand. And profoundly entertaining. Rolling out songs like “Murder House,” and “Wrong God,” the band’s delivery was solid. Audiance participation was on tap for “I Can’t It’s a Geo.” “They Warned Me,” proved to be a performance highlight.
Head Ned proved to be humbled when mentioning the bands appearance on The Simpsons. Recently, during the
show’s closing credits the producers proudly displayed Okilly Dokilly’s video for “White wine Spritzer.” For the closing number, Head Ned reduced his attire a Spandex body suit, for “Nothing at All.”
Deeply entertaining, on a geek level, or as a spectacle, Okilly Dokilly knocked it out of the park-a-rino. Worth catching live when the Ned Vanders pulls into your town.
